Travelling to Brisbane

Travel and Health Insurance

Conference delegates and any accompanying persons are advised to arrange appropriate travel and health insurance. The conference Registration Fees do not include any insurance coverage and the Organising Committee does not accept responsibility for any losses.

Flights

Brisbane Airport has limited direct international flights, including Asia/Pacific, Dubai and Los Angeles. The majority of international flights will arrive in Sydney with an additional 1.5 hour domestic flight to Brisbane (not including transfer time).

Transportation

Brisbane Airport is located approximately 30 minutes from the centre of Brisbane. A taxi (cab) fare will cost approximately $40-$50 and most taxis have credit card payment facilities.

Hotel transport facilities are also available. Tickets for transfers to your accommodation can be purchased at the Visitors Information Service and Bookings desk on Arrivals Level 2 (International terminal) or Level 1 (Domestic terminal) provided by Southern Queensland Tourism.

Brisbane's Airtrain will transport you to the heart of Brisbane in approximately 20 minutes from directly outside the domestic and international terminals.

Car rental facilities are available at both the domestic and international terminals at Brisbane Airport. International drivers licences are recognised in Australia and will need to be shown.

Tourism

There is much to see and do in and around the city of Brisbane including the Botanic Gardens, South Bank, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary (where you can hold a Koala and feed the Kangaroos) or even a river cruise.

Additionally, only an hour away is the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Mount Coot-tha Lookout.
